Flying any single or twin prop aircraft (See rules - Eligible Aircraft) the Test Flight is flown between the Temuco (TCO) VOR and the Valdivia (VLD) VOR in Chile on a heading of 193 degrees.
Set up your chosen aircraft at Temuco (SCTC) RWY 06 in clear weather conditions. A flight situation file with a default aircraft set up at SCTC on RWY 06 in clear weather conditions is provided for your convenience.
Set the Nav 1 radio to the TCO VOR frequency of 114.1 and set the OBS to 193. Take-off, climb and establish yourself at 6000'.
Turn left and intersect the TCO VOR 193 inbound radial and establish yourself on your desired cruise speed. Track the 193 inbound radial to overfly the TCO VOR. As you overfly the TCO VOR and the VOR instrument needle "swings", note the time on the timer (this is the "start" time).
Now set the NAV 1 radio to the VLD VOR frequency of 114.5 and set the OBS to 193. Continue to track the 193 inbound radial to the VLD VOR and as you overfly the VLD VOR and the VOR instrument needle "swings", note the time on the timer again (this is the "finish" time).
Subtract the "start" time from the "finish" time to calculate your Test Flight time which then must be submitted with your Pilot Registration.
Your test time must be entered here on the registration form. Don't forget, registration closes 23:59 UTC Wednesday, 12th April, 2017.
